I will need your help marketing this book to the world. I will be selling this book through Amazon as well as bookstores, and the initial impact will, of course, be via immediate sales on Amazon. I will be offering the eBook for the first week at a discounted rate so that you can purchase it, read it, and hopefully post an honest review on Amazon as soon as possible. This initial flurry of activity on Amazon is the secret to getting the attention of Amazon’s own marketing algorithms.
If you prefer to pre-order a hard copy and wait until your paperback or hardcover is delivered, that’s great, and I still need your honest review! If you are one of those delightful people who also write reviews on Goodreads or other book review lists, your help there is priceless. If you have a blog and would be willing to review it there, I would appreciate it so much!
You might think this sounds like a lot of profit-seeking capitalism, and I am hoping to recoup some of my expenses in producing this book. But honestly, the entire time I have been tapping away on the draft of this book at my café, I have been thinking of the Worldwide Joy Ripple Effect that might be possible thanks to this humble life-lessons-disguised-as-art-instruction book. As I typed away, I saw the faces of each of my students who have had an “a-ha” moment. I pictured the future grins when a beginner discovers how to pause long enough to watch the pigment explode and drift in a tiny sea of wet-in-wet watercolor glory. The brush-work self-restraint that was so difficult before becomes simple, once you realize you don’t have to “drive” the paint everywhere with your brush. That may be true with oils and acrylics, but this is WATERcolor! It has a life of its own once you learn how to cooperate with its fluidity.
Watercolor is a thoroughbred racehorse, so don’t treat it like a plow mule!
Okay, time to get back to self-publishing admin work. The next blog post will have the link so you can pre-order your copy. Get ready to smile, you will love it.

Good question Laurie. As far as I can tell, pre-orders are only allowed for eBooks and I’m setting that up soon. I’m glad you’re excited about it– I am beside myself! You’ll get plenty of notice of when it’s available and I so appreciate your support
