A very rough holiday weekend, starting with another retinal hemorrhage on Dec 21st and yesterday’s confirmation that my one remaining retina is simply disintegrating. How curious that my last painting would be of a sunset (the previous post) — I am very pleased with it, a lovely place to rest.
I will have a huge new learning curve ahead of me, learning to live with severe or total blindness, but I can’t pretend that I am the first person to go through this, nor will I be the last sadly. There is a very competent agency nearby that works with people like me, and when this utterly frustrating ‘holiday season’ is finally over, I am hoping that everyone will be back to work, ready to help folks like me get on with our lives.
I will be taking this blog down as of the first of the year, shutting off the lights in this theatre before I move on to the next venue of life. If I have infected you with itchy fingers to paint or write, or hopefully both, then my work here is done.
Be well, and thanks for your creative friendships.
No words, Bobbie 💔 Please know that you’ve infected me and your nieces with your incredible, brilliant creativity. You have been and will continue to be inspiring to us. I’m just a phone call away if you want to chat and just a flight away if you need anything. Love you, sistah!

Oh Bobby I am so sorry to hear this! You are such a gentle, kind and loving lady and it has been a Pleasure to get to know you! You are certainly about to embark on a new adventure and although I know it will be a struggle, I know that you are a strong lady and will just do great!
I still gave my weaving that I did with lots of help from you and I still love them. They sit prominently in my home where I see them every day. Thank you so much!
Big hugs and much love,
Donna

Bobb-ka- You have been an inspiration to so many and I’m so grateful for your love and can-do attitude. I can only imagine how hard this is. You have tons of talent in your words, your hands, and your insight. This world has so much to learn from you. Love you heaps and heaps!
